Stichting Move is a Dutch charity that brings together children from underprivileged neighbourhoods with participating university students to find ways to improve their communities and make them better places to live.
Children first meet up with participating university students who they can talk to and share ideas for projects that they think would improve their community. The university students then help to organise these projects, making the ideas a reality. These types of projects help to strengthen the bond between community members by bringing them together with one common goal – that of making their neighbourhoods a better place to live. The children discover new talents and learn more about the academic lives of the students which may open up more possibilities for the future.
Stichting Move has helped 4,032 children and 1008 students to launch 168 community projects in 7 cities across the Netherlands.
The Sofronie Foundation has supported various projects in Amsterdam, Eindhoven and Delft (2014-2022).
