With the power of Artificial Intelligence and Big Data, Sofronie is supporting a programme to analyse mood disorders in young people to improve tailored treatments and outcomes. The project is led by Dr Moji Aghajani, Assistant Professor at the department of Institute of Education and Child studies Forensic Family and Youth Care at Leiden University Netherlands. The work joins the ENIGMA (Enhancing Neuroimaging Genetics through Meta Analysis) consortium which has 50 Global groups which collaborate and share data and studies of the human brain.
The funding will provide the means to analyse causes and symptoms in specific groups and compare and contrast brain imaging variations. The scope of the data allows for a large study as opposed to traditional small studies and allow for better understanding of the findings.
The objective is to strive for earlier detection of symptoms based on an accessible test result and earlier care to treat the condition. It has the potential to make a significant effect on social care and emotional effects on the family and individual.
