Purpose of Activities:

Improving social mobility by, generally but not solely, funding initiatives to improve academic, vocational or skills which can lead to increased opportunities for employment for those young people who have to overcome obstacles to progress.

Plans for the Future:

The Sofronie Foundation is dedicated to advancing social mobility by improving the prospects of young talent—particularly those from less advantaged backgrounds—by providing access to opportunities, support, and resources to realise their full potential.

Key projects supported by the foundation include Codam Coding College in Amsterdam which offers free of charge computer software skills training provided by the 42 network and supports students through internships to full time employment.

For younger secondary school pupils, Sofronie hopes to inspire and encourage technical creativity through the provision of TUMO digital creative programmes accessed by OBA Next (Openbare Bibliotheek) library in Amsterdam. Introducing early concepts of technology design through animation, web design, drawing, graphic design, filmmaking, and music delivered free of charge after school.

The foundation will continue to explore and contribute to initiatives for talented young people who face reduced opportunities and barriers to success.
